Singapore Nursing Home Under Pressure After Nursing Home Abuse
April 30, 2012
A Singapore nursing home is under heavy scrutiny after an alleged case of physical nursing home abuse was caught on video last March. The nursing home also recently received 32 employment breach charges.
The alleged nursing home abuse came to light when a man used a hidden camera to capture video of his mother being thrown onto her bed and slapped by workers at the nursing home.
The Ministry of Health has cracked down hard on the nursing home with inspections every three weeks. They are also regularly calling family members of residents to make sure things are going well with their family member’s care at the nursing home.
The video of the abused woman was shown on television giving increased awareness to the abuse and spurring the Ministry of Health to promise they will increase their surveillance for nursing home abuse at all nursing facilities.
We encourage family of nursing home abuse or neglect victims to contact a nursing home abuse lawyer to help bring justice and financial compensation to the abused and their family.
