The owner of several small nursing homes operating under the name The Rose Home in Bryan, Texas has been charged with five felonies. The felony charges are for lying under oath and fabricating evidence during a nursing home abuse investigation and for writing hot checks.

A civil case was filed against the nursing home owner by the family of a resident who developed two severe bedsores that were not properly treated. The family also says they were not told about the bed sores and were even lied to.

The nursing home owner is accused of lying under oath about the case and altering data with regards to the abuse victim’s care in an attempt to stay out of trouble. The charges of aggravated perjury and fabricating evidence could mean up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the nursing home owner.

If you believe a loved one is being treated improperly at his or her nursing home you should report your suspicions to the authorities immediately and get in touch with a nursing home abuse lawyer to help you with your legal needs.
