Two elderly women have come forward with allegations that they were abused at Carolina House nursing home on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The women claim to have been victims of nursing home abuse by the same woman who has a history of being an abusive caretaker.
Among the allegations against the caretaker are that she slapped one woman causing her nose to bleed and forced medication down her throat.
The woman accused of abuse had been suspended from another nursing home for verbally abusing a resident. The abused women claim the nursing home’s employing the caretaker should have known that employing a woman with a history of abuse would likely lead to further abuse.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigated the claims of abuse and the alleged abusive caretaker was arrested on charges of elder abuse.
