The Golden Living Center nursing home in Grand Island Lakeview, Nebraksa is suing the U.S. Health and Human Services Department for what they say is a wrongful sexual nursing home abuse accusation on their record.

During a federal inspection in April investigators witnessed two residents at the nursing home being affectionate with each other and the nursing home was subsequently given a deficiency on its record and also had some of its federal funding cut. The nursing home received its previous funding a short time later but the blemish remained on its record.

The Golden Living Center is suing the federal government in order to get the deficiency removed from its record. The nursing home says it couldn’t appeal the record blemish because the sanction was lifted.

Abuse in nursing homes is a serious problem throughout our country. If you or a loved one has been a victim of nursing home abuse or neglect a nursing home abuse lawyer can help you get the help you need.
