A methamphetamine lab fire at Park Haven Home nursing home in Ohio resulted in one person dying and an investigation into nursing home abuse issues at the facility.

The fire occurred in a resident’s room as three men attempted set up a meth lab. One person was killed in the fire, two people were treated at the scene, and four had to be hospitalized.

Police think that one resident at the nursing home knew about the meth lab. Two men who were burned in the fire are expected to be charged for the fire.

An investigation into the fire also revealed that the nursing home did not have a written emergency evacuation plan and in total the nursing home was cited for seven violations. The facility could lose it’s license to operate and could be closed.

The nursing home currently only has one star out of five on a federal rating system.

We advise anyone concerned that their loved one is being abused or neglected in a nursing home to contact a nursing home abuse lawyer to discuss your legal options.
